In Finland, educators and tech innovators are combating childhood passivity with a creative solution. The SME Geego Kids, supported by HealthHub Finland EDIH, has launched a digital platform aimed at children aged 4–8 that promotes physical activity through gamified challenges and personalized recommendations.
Developed jointly with the University of Eastern Finland, the app features an engaging onboarding animation, reward videos, and an AI-driven recommendation engine to keep children motivated and consistent in their movement habits.
Early results are promising: pilots in Tampere schools show many children continue using it at home, teachers report improved focus after activity breaks, and the city plans to scale the solution to more first-grade classes.
