Synthethic Data and Data Analysis

Synthetic data is a valuable tool to overcome data access barriers for SMEs, as real healthcare data is often challenging to access due to privacy laws and institutional barriers.

We provide SMEs access to healthcare data synthetisation and data analysis services. Free of charge or at a reduced cost.

In Finland, health and social data are collected from various sources, including hospitals, registries, and research studies.

This data can be accessed through FinRegistry, while FinData facilitates the access by managing data permits and ensuring that all data usage complies with relevant regulations.

EU Regulation

The “Big Five” in EU regulation refers to a set of major legislative initiatives aimed at regulating and shaping the cross-sectoral digital landscape within the European Union. These regulations are designed to enhance digital rights, improve data governance, and boost the digital economy, ensuring that data and digital tools are used safely and ethically. These include:

The Digital Services Act (DSA) is focused on regulating digital services that act as intermediaries connecting consumers to goods, services, or content, with the aim of ensuring a safer digital space.

The Digital Markets Act (DMA) is aimed at promoting fair competition and innovation by preventing large online platforms from acting as “gatekeepers” in the digital market.

The Data Governance Act (DGA) encourages the sharing of public sector data and improves trust in data intermediaries.

The Data Act is a key pillar of the European data strategy. The aim of the Data Act is to provide data accessibility for all. The goal is to make data more accessible to all stakeholders, including SMEs and innovators. By removing barriers, the Data Act encourages data sharing and collaboration. The Data Act stimulates a competitive data market by promoting data-driven innovation.

The AI Act seeks to regulate artificial intelligence by establishing rules for its development and deployment, ensuring safety and adherence to ethical standards.

European Health Data Space (EHDS)

The European Health Data Space (EHDS) is an EU initiative aimed at improving healthcare by facilitating safe and secure access and sharing of health data across member states. It supports cross-border data exchange, enhances research, and ensures high standards of data quality and privacy.
