Speaker descriptions:

Elina Drakvik works as an expert in Sitra’s Health Data 2030 project. Her role is to promote the beneficial use of health data both in Finland and across Europe and to collaborate with international health ecosystems and stakeholders. Elina is a key contact for developing Finland’s health data ecosystems and practical experiments, as well as for developments related to the secondary use of health data across Europe. Elina has about 10 years of experience in European collaboration in health research. She has worked on various EU research projects in Finland and Sweden, both as a project manager and as a leader of work packages, and she also has experience with research funding and international cooperation from the Academy of Finland. Elina is particularly interested in the societal impact of (research), inclusion, and systemic change toward sustainable development, where health and well-being are understood in a broad sense.

Heikki Pitkänen is the CEO and founder of Lean Entries, a company transforming complex regulatory information into easy-to-digest, actionable knowledge for health tech startups, using the ENTRIES platform. Heikki also serves as a Senior Expert in Regulations & Quality at Labquality, where he supports startups and researchers with regulatory compliance for medical devices. With over a decade of experience in regulatory affairs and project management, he has held leadership roles in both industry and certification bodies, including SGS and VTT Expert Services (now Eurofins), focusing on global medical device standards and compliance.

Juha Paakkola is a passionate advocate for data-driven healthcare with extensive experience in the health industry and ecosystem. Currently, he serves as the Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Business Development Officer at VEIL.AI, where he focuses on high-quality health data de-identification for analytics and AI development. Juha is also the founder of Health4Finland Ltd, leveraging his deep insights to drive better health, business growth, and investments. Previously, he led Health Capital Helsinki, fostering collaboration between private companies and the public health ecosystem. Juha has also held significant roles at the United Nations Technology Innovation Labs, Sandoz, Modeo Oy, GlaxoSmithKline, and Thermo-Labsystems. He holds a Licentiate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Helsinki.

Arho Virkki is the Chief Analytics Officer at the Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland, where he focuses on data science applications in healthcare. Previously, he was the Head of Clinical Informatics and Chief Data Officer at Turku University Hospital, leading data science initiatives to support clinical decision-making. With expertise in machine learning, data mining, and mathematical modeling, Arho has a strong foundation in health data analytics from roles at VTT as a Senior Scientist and at the University of Turku. He specializes in using advanced analytics and modeling to address complex healthcare challenges.
